Un tempo, anche per me, il 31 Dicembre era il giorno dei bilanci e dei buoni propositi per l’anno nuovo. Poi ho smesso. Inutile fare bilanci: quel che è stato è stato. Inutile stilare sulla carta nuovi e ipotetici buoni propositi: nella vita navigo a vista e spesso tutti i piani, anche i migliori, vengono scombinati da fatti e circostanze non previste. E non è detto che l’imprevisto non sia migliore di ciò che avevamo programmato.
Perciò auguro a me stessa e a tutti voi, nell’anno nuovo, di abbandonare il vecchio e far largo al nuovo. Addio vecchie abitudini-coperte di Linus, addio vecchie conoscenze, se sono logore e prive di stimoli, addio lavoro snervante e privo di soddisfazioni. Addio a tutto ciò che di vecchio ci portiamo addosso come modi di pensare, di vivere, di atteggiarci.
Largo al nuovo. Ad uno sguardo nuovo con cui guardare noi stessi, gli altri, la vita.

One time, even for me, December 31 was the day of budgets and resolutions for the new year. Then I quit. Needless to make budgets: what’s done is done. Needless to draw on paper new and hypothetical good intentions: in life I sail in sight andall the floors, even the best, are messed up by facts and circumstances not envisaged. It is said that the unexpected is not better than what we had planned.
So I wish myself and all of you in the New Year to abandon the old and make way for the new. Goodbye old habits-Linu’s blankets, goodbye old friends, if they are worn out and without stimulation, goodbye nerve-wracking job and devoid of satisfaction. Goodbye to all that we carry as old ways of thinking, of living, old attitudes.
Make way for the new. For a fresh look with which to look at ourselves, others and life.
